As I was lost in thought, a delicate figure suddenly blocked my path.
It was Fiona.
Her eyes were red-rimmed as she stared at me with a stubborn look. "Miss Bella, Darian and I are truly in love. Please, don't tear us apart."
I was forced to stop. The nobles walking down the hall saw the commotion and began to whisper.
"What's going on? Is that Siren Wolf really going to steal another woman's man?"
"I always said she was arrogant, thinking she's so special because of her bloodline. Look, her true colors are showing."
Fiona heard the murmurs and a flash of triumph crossed her eyes. She raised her voice, letting it tremble with fake tears.
"Miss Bella, I saw Darian begging you to cancel the alliance with the Alpha King. Why did you refuse him?"
"You can't just use your noble status and powerful bloodline to destroy someone else's happiness!"
I almost laughed in her face. This pair was really taking turns trying to piss me off.
I'd never even met Fiona in the dream; I only knew her as the childhood love Darian could never forget. But now, seeing her twist the truth like this, I could see she and that heartless bastard Darian were a match made in heaven.
I took a deep breath, forcing down my anger.
"I've already told you, my alliance is not with Darian. The man you treasure so much means absolutely nothing to me."
Like Darian, Fiona clearly didn't believe a word I said.
"Don't lie to yourself, Miss Bella. Everyone here saw how you threw yourself at Darian for the past few months."
"You're only saying this now because you know he chose me, and you're jealous!"
It was impossible to reason with someone this delusional. I raised my hand to push her aside, but the moment my fingertips touched her shoulder, Fiona crumpled backward like a feather and fell hard onto the stone floor.
Her pale arm scraped against the rough ground, leaving behind several angry red scratches.
I instinctively reached out to help her up, but a dark shadow lunged forward and kicked me away.
"Bitch!" Darian roared, his voice thick with killing intent. "Is this how your noble Siren Wolf family taught you to behave? Bullying a defenseless woman?"
I couldn't dodge in time. The kick landed squarely in my stomach, and I crumpled to the ground in pain. Darian, meanwhile, scooped Fiona into his arms, his eyes full of concern.
"Your body is already so weak, why did you even come here? Just to get bullied by her?"
Anya rushed to help me up. I gritted my teeth against the pain, my voice laced with sarcasm.
"Weak? I've never in my life seen a werewolf who could fall over from a light touch."
"If she's really that fragile, maybe she should be sent back for a redesign."
Darian's face hardened with impatience. "That's enough, Bella! Don't think you can bully Fiona to force me into this bond. All you're doing is making me hate you even more!"
I let out a cold laugh. "Then allow me to make you hate me a little bit more."
I slowly opened my mouth, and a low, piercing note echoed from my throat.
This wasn't a song of comfort. This was the battle cry of a Siren Wolf, designed to attack the mind.
Instantly, Darian and Fiona's faces went deathly pale. Cold sweat beaded on their foreheads.
As the heir to the Siren Wolf bloodline, my spiritual power was the strongest in my family. My voice was both a blessing and a weapon.
Fiona lasted only a few seconds before she collapsed, drenched in sweat, clutching her ears and screaming in agony.
Darian was holding on better, but he was gritting his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead.
"Bella, stop this right now, apologize to Fiona, and I'll pretend this never happened!" he snarled through clenched teeth.
I stared at him coldly, raising the pitch of my song.
Somehow, I don't think I'm the one who needs to be begging right now.
Darian’s jaw was so tight a trickle of blood ran from the corner of his mouth. His fists were clenched, knuckles white. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore. With a loud thud, he fell to his knees before me.
Feeling immensely satisfied, I stopped singing and looked down on them.
"You should really think twice before you disrespect me in my own territory."
